Yahoo has confirmed that the company will be shutting down his products like Yahoo Games, Yahoo LiveText, its regional media properties, and more.

Yahoo wants to focus on main projects which are Mail, Search, Tumblr, News, Sports, Finance and Lifestyle.

According to company, Yahoo games, that was launched in 1998, and publishing channel will be closed from May 13, 2016. From March 14, 2016 Yahoo games user will not be able to make in-app purchases. Yahoo has already reached out to his game developers and providers to prepare a transactional plan for the existing users.

Yahoo Livetext will be unavailable by the end of March 2016. Livetxt is Video Chat app, without sound. According to Yahoo, this app helped them to experiment with user experience and they might include the feature in Yahoo messenger.

Yahoo BOSS

Build your own search engine (BOSS), a platform that allowed users to create their own search engine. Company will be shutting down the BOSS JSON Search API and BOSS Hosted Search, as well as the BOSS Placefinder and Placespotter APIs, on March 31, 2016.

Yahoo is recommending developers to try YPA, a JavaScript solution for publishers who manage their own search engine results pages, and Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite.

Yahoo is also shutting down few other regional products like Yahoo Astrology will close in the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, and India.

Yahoo Maktoob News (Arabic and English), Celebrity, Movies, Style, Helwa, Sports, and Weather will close, and the pages will redirect to the Yahoo Maktoob homepages in Arabic and English.
