After this section, you will see the traditional reverse-chronological timeline we have been using since the beginning.
Suppose you follow many accounts on Twitter, and didn’t get the chance to check the twitter for few hours. So when you open twitter, you will see the best tweets on top, and then your regular timeline with live tweets.
What’s Twitter saying about improved timeline?
Twitter was testing this timeline from last few months, and seems to be happy with the outcome. Users with this feature on, were more active on twitter, they were engaged with more tweets and retweeting more than before. This is a good point for brands as they can no reach out to more active and potential users.
According to Twitter, brands with high quality content have always performed well. They add, “With this update whether it comes from an SMB, large brand, consumer, or athlete you follow, the best content shines through.”
There is no impact on Promoted Tweets and Promoted Accounts. Twitter confirms “Brands will still have access to the same suite of creative, measurement, and targeting tools to make sure theirs ads display to the right people, at just the right moment.”
Twitter improved timeline is opt in based feature, means, if you don’t like this feature, you can opt out anytime. To enable/disable this feature,

- Select the account for which you would like to update this setting
