Tata Motors has confirmed that the Zica compact hatchback will now be known as the Tiago. The company decided to rename the ‘Zica’ name due to its resemblance with the ‘Zika’ Virus.
The company organized a name hunt contest ‘Fantastico’ for a new name of his Zica. After 37000 entries, thee names were shortlisted Adore, Civet and Tiago. Later, company settled down with name Tiago for his upcoming car.
The company also announced that it will launch the hatchback by the end of March 2016.

Tata was already promoting Zica car with famous footballer Messi, but after the announcement of Zika virus by world health organization, company changed his mind.
