Announced this Tuesday, August 1st, the return of the São Paulo band Restart to the stages, on a tour that will start on October 7th in São Paulo (SP) and will last until the first half of 2024, signals that it can be greater than imagined was the reach of the wave of nostalgia that rose on the stages of Brazil.
The phenomenal commercial success of the tour that marked the reunion of the band Titas in 2023 certainly contributed to boost the trend of revival in the entertainment music industry – showbiz , in the world pop dictionary.
The point is that, if the group Titas had not performed for more than 30 years with the classic formation of the 1980s, the return of Pe Lanza (vocals), Pe Lu (vocals), Koba (guitar) and Thomas (drums) ) to the scene, with the tour , after a hiatus of just eight years, since the quartet took a break in 2015.
Another issue concerns the artistic legacy of each band. The legacy of the group Titas, just to mention the aforementioned example of a successful tour, is undeniable and has crossed generations, with the band on the eternal podium of Brazilian rock alongside groups such as Barao Vermelho, Urbana, Los Hermanos, O Rappa, Paralamas do Success and Skank.
Formed in 2008 in the city of Sao Paulo (SP), Restart mobilized teenagers from 2009 to 2012 with colorful clothes and records that amplified pop rock as teen as the posture of the members of the quartet.
However, the fact that Restart’s trajectory went awry from 2013 shows that, strictly speaking, the group’s artistic breath was short. And no member made a relevant contribution to national pop throughout this quartet’s hiatus.
It is a fact that the group’s return to what is being characterized as a “farewell tour” will stir up the affective memory of this teenage audience, now in their early twenties, ten years younger than the members, now in their 30s.
It remains to be seen whether, when the sales of the Pra Voce Remember tour begin on Friday, August 4th, there will be room for a Restart farewell tour on a national scale, in the main capitals of Brazil and in important cities such as Ribeirão Preto (SP) .
If the tour is successful from a commercial point of view, it will be proven that saudade has no age on the national stages.
