According to a tweet by Gary Illyes Google Search Console Index Status report is broken at the moment. Gary Illyes, is Webmaster Trends Analyst at Google.
The Index Status report provides data about the URLs that Google tried to index in the current property for the past year.
@Ryosuke_Shiga Yeah, it’s broken right now, we know about it. We asked the team to take a look. Sorry about that

You can check the report in Search Console -> Google Index-> Index Status.
A user noted that the number in the index is not growing, even the number of pages indexed by Google is growing. Some compared the index status report flat growth to that of the Sitemap report index count. And when the numbers don’t align and shift together, it may be a sign that one of the reports is wrong.
There is no fixed time when they will fix the report. For now, use your sitemap index report in Google search console, not your Search Console Index Status report.
