Facebook apologizes for security check bug after Pakistan Bomb Blast

Facebook recently sent security check notifications to different countries of world, if they are ok after a bomb blast took place in Pakistan.

A bomb blast took place in Pakistan on Easter Sunday. The blast took place in a part, in the eastern city of Lahore that killed many people.

The Explosion in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park, Lahore, Pakistan

The notification says, “Are you OK? It looks like you’re in the area affected by [the explosion]. Let friends know that you’re safe.” Facebook said some users accidentally received the message.

“Unfortunately, many people not affected by the crisis received a notification asking if they were okay. This kind of bug is counter to our intent. We worked quickly to resolve the issue and we apologize to anyone who mistakenly received the notification.” says a post by Facebook Disaster.
